In consideration of the pivotal role of mothers in grooming the children towards the correct ways of life, and in accomplishment of the Holy Prophet’s, saying that, ‘Attaiment of basic knowledge of Islam is obligatory for all Muslim men & women, Maulana Muhammad Obaidullah, the Raisul Jamia established a branch of JAMIA ASHRAFIA for Ladies at Model Town, Lahore in 1975.

            In appreciation of the services rendered by the late King Faisal for Islam, this ladies branch of Jamia Ashrafia was named Madrisa Faisal Lil Bannat. It has about 500 girl students on it’s rolls, including quite a few from foreign countries.

            MADRISA FAISAL has Faculties of Tahfeezul Qur’an, Tajweedul Qur’an and a Four year intensive course of Qur’an Ahadith, Fiqha and associated subjects leading to the highest degree of ‘Aalimiyya – awarded by the Pakistan WAFAQUL MADARIS Board, and reckoned equivalent to double Master’s Degree i.e. MA Arabic & MA Islamiyat.

Minimum qualification for admission in Madrisa Faisal is Matriculation. The Jamia caters for the complete board & lodge, food, books & education of all resident pupils. An independent MEDICAL CENTRE located at this branch provides free medical treatment to the staff & students of the Madrisa and population of the area around.

            In addition to the normal theological subjects, English Languages is being taught in collaboration with the International Islamic University Islamabad. Social studies, Material sciences & Mathematics also form part of the extended curriculum. In appreciation of the utility of IT a COMPUTER LABORATORY exists at this Ladies Branch as well.

            A special course of Tibb-e-Unani is also being taught at Madrisa Faisal under the management & solo-sponsorship of the reputed QARSHI FOUNDATION – which provides a generous stock of Unani Medicines for free distribution to the patients.

            The overall academic standard of Madrisa Faisal is very good. Two of its pupils secured the two top positions in the last 1422 H, WAFAQUL MADARIS Exam. – which is indeed a rare distinction.
