The advent of Islam in Indo-Pakistan Thus
when the sun of Islam rose over the horizons of Arabia with
all its glamour, its rays enlightened the Indo-Pakistan soil
as well. Islamic culture and civilization began to penetrate
into it, and Islamic character started its reflection in the
individual and collective lives here. Efforts made by Muslim
traders, scholars and spiritual personalities contributed
to the growth of the power and glory of Islam, which lasted
for 800 years till the advent of British Imperialism.
mpact of the prolonged Muslim rule in the
sub-continent really deserves detailed discussion, which would
require a book. However, it will not be out of place to mention
here that the standard of education and cultural growth of
Muslims in this area had no parallels in the past. Also, in
resisting the powerful cultural invasion mounted by the British
imperialism and working for the survival of Islamic culture
and civilization, the scholars (Ulema) of land wrote the finest
chapter in the history of courage, nobility, sacrifice, religious
dignity and self-respect.
Establishment of Islamic Institution in Pakistan
With the creation of God-gifted Islamic State
of Pakistan, majority of Religious Centres and Islamic Institutes
fell within the territorial limits of Bharat and thus the
paucity of such Institutions began to be felt seriously in
Pakistan. Soon, through the sincere efforts of the Islamic
scholars (Ulama) of Pakistan, numerous mosques and religious
institutions started appearing in the newly born State Through
well concerted efforts of noble Muslim scholars these Institutions
sprang up in every corner of the country including Karachi,
Lahore, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta,
to name a few.
