Aims & Objectives Of Jamia Ashrafia
1. To produce
Muslim scholars who have full command on the knowledge of
the Holy Qur'an, Ahadith, Fiqha and the basic principles of
Islam.
2. To propagate
the knowledge of the Holy Quran, Ahadith, Fiqha and the basic
principles of Islam to Muslims all over the world.
3. To establish
a Faculty of Iftah where facility is provided for common Muslims
to obtain authenticated verdit in issues of daily routine.
4. To create
a forum of skilled Islamic scholars with mission to motivate
Muslims to mould their individual lives & the society
around according to the dictates of Islam.
5. To acquaint
Ulama with the challenges of the modern age, for effective
communication of the message of Islam to the people all over
the world.
6. To fulfill
all obligations for the personal care & spiritual grooming
of the students & other associates of the JAMIA.
7. To publish
Islamic literature as part of the accomplishment of the aim
& objectives of the Jamia.
What
is the Aqeeda (Belief) of Jamia Ashrafia?
JAMIA ASHRAFIA
LAHORE belongs to Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat School of thought,
which is in absolute conformity with the dictates of Qur'an
& Sunnah, and conduct of all Fellows Sahaba (RA) of the
Holy Prophet (SAWS) & the immediate next generations of
Tabiyeen & Taba Tabiyeen.
As such Jamia
firmly believes (1) in the absolute unity of Allah, (2) His
angles, (3) His Prophets & Messengers and (4) the Divine
revelations & Holy Books received through them. (5) JAMIA
has unflinching faith in resurrection after death and (6)
the accountability of good & bad deeds on the Day of Judgment
to be followed by reward of Jannah to the nobles and eternal
condemnation to the sinners, as per Allah's decision (7) JAMIA
also believes that Muhammad (SAWS) was the absolutely last
of the Allah's Prophets & Messengers, and considers every
claimant of continuity of partial or full Prophet-hood as
condemned Murtad. (8) The Holy Book Qur'an has descended down
to us in its true original version as revealed upon the Prophet
(SAWS). Any efforts to alter or amend Qur'an shall always
remain futile since Allah Almighty has Himself guaranteed
His own protection for His last Divine revelation.
Alkitab, Sunnah,
Ijma & Qiyas are considered, as the basic pillars of Islamic
knowledge - to be followed by Ijtehad by an acknowledged Mujtahid
only if & when felt absolutely necessary.
Administrative Organisation Of Jamia Ashrafia
JAMIA ASHRAFIA
LAHORE is an autonomous institution established in Sept. 1947,
and functions under the MEMORANDUM/ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION
as laid down by the founder members of the Anjuman & Management
Committee of JAMIA ASHRAFIA on 17th May 1954. The overall
control & management of JAMIA ASHRAFIA LAHORE vests in
the following bodies:
The Advisory Council of Jamia Ashrafia headed by Rais-ul-Jamia/Chancellor
keeps a watch on the policies of JAMIA ASHRAFIA to ensure
fulfillment of the Aims & Objectives permissible according
to Islamic, Shariah.
Only the individuals of high academic caliber of noble repute
endowed with missionary spirit to make contribution towards
the noble cause are nominated as members of the Advisory Council.
The Managing Committee is responsible for the overall management
and administration of the JAMIA. It has six members:
1. Maulana Obaidullah Al-Mufti - Chancellor
2. Maulana Abdul Rehman Ashrafi-Vice Chancellor
3. Maulana Hafiz Fazl-ur-Rahim- Pro Vice Chancellor
4. Maulana Akram Kashmiri - Registrar
5. Maulana Qari Arshad Obaid - Chief Administrator
6. Maulana Hafiz Ajwad Obaid-Controller of Exam.

The Chancellor/Raisul Jamia will be the PRESIDENT of the Managing
Committee, and he can exercise full executive powers on behalf
of the Committee unless otherwise restricted, in any way,
by the Committee.
The Registrar
of the Jamia is the SECRETARY of the Management Committee.
The Secretary calls the meeting of the committee, keeps the
record of the proceedings of the meetings, exercises general
supervision over Jamia Ashrafia, deals with policy matters
and carries on correspondence & work under the guidance
of the President.
The Chief Administrator
acts as the Finance Secretary. He maintains and keeps accounts
of Jamia Ashrafia in the manner prescribed by the committee
or directed by the President. All funds of the Jamia are kept
& deposited in a Bank approved by the Committee.
The Academic Committee comprises of the Heads
of all Academic Faculties of the JAMIA with Maulana Hafiz
Fazl-ur-Rahim the DIRECTOR EDUCATION as the Chairman.
This committee takes perusal of the curriculum
of JAMIA, the courses of studies, the books prescribed and
the student/teacher affairs etc. It ensures that the system
of education in vogue at the JAMIA is progressive and is in
conformity with the call of age, in order to produce Islamic
scholars fully conversant with the latest trends in education
the world-over.
This committee keeps a vigilant watch on the
day-to-day teaching schedule, and holds occasioned meetings
of the staff to deliberate upon measures for further improvement
of
Academic affairs.
The Academic Committee supervises the sessional and Annual
Examinations conducted by the Examination Branch headed by
Qari Ajwad Obaid.
The Academic Committee retains a close liaison
with the Board of WAFAQUL MADARIS to ensure implementation
of the Boards Policies of education/examination.
